Driving from Malaga to Estepona takes roughly 1 hour 15 minutes via the AP-7 toll road or slightly longer on scenic coastal routes. From Gibraltar expect the journey to take around 55 minutes. Keep in mind you’ll need to find somewhere to park in Estepona and parking spaces in the old town can be hard to find.

Planning Your Arrival:

  • Research and Book: Regardless of your chosen mode of transport, research schedules and fares in advance, especially during peak seasons as buses especially fill-up quickly.
  • Consider Luggage: If you are traveling with bulky luggage, taxis or airport transfer companies are the most convenient. The bus from Malaga airport does have space for luggage and there are free luggage trolleys available to help you.
  • Factor in Travel Time: Allow ample time to get through the airports when you land. If you’re coming into Gibraltar, you will need to allow time to cross the border into Spain.
