Avocado

One of many

Set in the beautiful Plaza de las Flores, Avocado is mostly a tapas place but does offer other bigger dishes, cakes and Ice Creams too. The food is ok but you can find better in Estepona.

Avacodo is ok. Personally, I think the food, and sometimes the service lets it down.

They have a large selection of great-looking tapas. Unfortunately, they don’t always deliver on taste and enjoyment. The Tacos, for example, are actually just bad.

This place used to be called Vitin and was considerably better than it is now.

The best thing going for it is that it’s on the wonderful Plaza de las Flores which is a delightful place to sit regardless of how good the service and food. ?

Not worth going out of your way for.

What we like

  • Good location
  • Nice ice cream
  • Lots of covered tables

What we don’t like

  • The food isn’t very good
  • Service can be slow
  • Not always very clean
  • Overpriced for the quality

Avocado Tapas Bar absolutely blew us away. Located right in the middle of Plaza de las Flores, it’s the perfect spot to soak up the charm of Estepona — even in late November, the outdoor dining was unbelievably pleasant. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and some of the best tapas we’ve had on the Costa del Sol.

We started with the Avo Pulpo, a beautifully fried octopus served over a bed of fresh avocado tartar. Perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor — truly outstanding.

Next up were the homemade meatballs in the chef’s specialty sauce, served with thick-cut fries. Comfort food done right, and that sauce is something special.

But the star of the night? The 2024 award-winning fried oxtail tapa — almost like a crispy fried wonton but filled with deeply rich, slow-cooked rabo de toro. Absolutely delicious and unlike anything we’ve tried before.

We finished everything off with ice-cold beers, enjoying the lively plaza and the beautiful Estepona weather.

Fantastic food, great vibes, and a perfect location. If you’re in Estepona, this spot is a must. We’ll definitely be back! 🍻🥑✨

The Food

Unfortunately, the food is quite expensive and not always very good.

They do have a good selection of things but choose carefully.

  • Tapas selection
  • Rations and plates too
  • Good ice cream selection
  • Cakes and Donoughts

They have a nice ice cream selection in the summer. However, you can find better Ice Cream in Estepona.

The Location

This Café in the main square of Estepona, Plaza de las Flores.

It’s in a central location and very easy to walk to from most places in the town.

  • Lots of outside seating in a beautiful square
  • Some inside space
  • Covered tables that are sheltered from the sun and the rain.

They are open all day until midnight.
