4. WordPress and WooCommerce
Our website uses WordPress and WooCommerce to operate the online store.
When you place an order, create an account, submit a review or otherwise interact with the store, relevant information may be stored in our WordPress and WooCommerce database. This may include your contact details, order details, account information, IP address and communications.
WordPress and WooCommerce are software used to operate the website. Their use does not necessarily mean that Automattic receives your personal data. However, data may be shared with Automattic if we activate separate services such as Jetpack, WooPayments, WordPress.com services or connected WooCommerce extensions.
5. Omnisend
We use Omnisend to manage email marketing and, where enabled, marketing automation, segmentation, subscription forms, abandoned-cart reminders and campaign reporting.
Information processed through Omnisend may include your name, email address, telephone number if SMS marketing is enabled, subscription status, consent record, order history, cart activity, website activity and interactions with marketing messages.
Omnisend primarily acts as our data processor when handling this information on our behalf. It may use affiliates and subprocessors located inside and outside the European Economic Area or United Kingdom.
Where required, international transfers are protected using recognised safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Further information is available in Omnisend’s Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.
6. Google Analytics
Subject to your cookie choices, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the website and to improve its content, performance and customer experience.
Google Analytics may process information including:
- Pages viewed and actions taken;
- Approximate location;
- Device, browser and operating-system information;
- Referral source;
- IP address and online identifiers; and
- Google Analytics cookie identifiers.
Standard Google Analytics cookies include _ga and _ga_<container-id>. These ordinarily have a maximum duration of two years, although browser restrictions or our configuration may shorten that period.
Non-essential analytics cookies are used only after consent where required.
Google may process information outside the European Economic Area or United Kingdom using legally recognised transfer safeguards.
Further information is available in Google’s Privacy Policy and its information about safeguarding Analytics data.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use:
- Strictly necessary cookies required for features such as the basket, checkout, security, account login and storage of cookie preferences.
- Analytics cookies, including Google Analytics cookies, to measure website usage.
- Marketing cookies or tracking technologies, where enabled, to measure campaigns and personalise communications.
- Preference cookies to remember choices requested by you.
Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. Analytics, advertising and other non-essential cookies are activated only according to the choices made through our consent banner.
8. Who receives personal data?
Where necessary, personal data may be disclosed to:
- Our website hosting and technical-support providers;
- Omnisend and its authorised subprocessors;

- Delivery, logistics and fulfilment providers, including Printful
- Accounting, legal, insurance and other professional advisers;
- Fraud-prevention and website-security providers;
- Public authorities, regulators or courts where disclosure is legally required; and
- A buyer, investor or successor if our business or assets are reorganised or transferred, subject to appropriate confidentiality safeguards.
We do not sell personal data.
9. International transfers
Some providers or their subprocessors may process personal data outside the United Kingdom, Spain or the European Economic Area.
Where a recipient is located in a country without an applicable adequacy decision, we use an appropriate transfer mechanism. This may include the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, together with supplementary safeguards where necessary.
You may contact us at alex@estepona.life for more information about the safeguards applicable to a particular transfer.
10. How long we retain personal data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose:
- Orders, invoices and accounting records: generally six years from the relevant accounting entry, or longer where another legal obligation or unresolved claim requires it.
- Customer accounts: while the account remains active and afterwards for applicable legal limitation periods, unless earlier deletion is appropriate.
- Customer enquiries: normally 12months after the enquiry is resolved, unless the information is needed for an order, complaint or legal claim.
- Marketing contacts: until consent is withdrawn, you unsubscribe or the information is no longer necessary. We may retain a minimal suppression record to ensure that marketing is not sent again.
- Omnisend activity and campaign records: 10 years
- Security logs: normally 12 MONTHS unless an incident requires longer retention.
- Consent records: for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance and during applicable limitation periods.
Information may be anonymised so that it can no longer identify an individual. Anonymous statistical information may be retained indefinitely.
11. Your rights
Depending on the law applicable to you, you may have the right to:

- The UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk; and
- The Spanish Agencia Española de Protección de Datos at aepd.es.
If you live elsewhere in the European Economic Area, you may contact your local data-protection authority.
We may use segmentation or profiling to tailor marketing—for example, using purchase history or campaign engagement. We do not use this information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
12. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful loss, alteration, access, disclosure or destruction.
These measures may include encrypted connections, access controls, software updates, backups and security monitoring. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Children
The website and online store are not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Purchases must be made by an adult or with the involvement and authorisation of a parent or legal guardian.
If you believe that a child has supplied personal data without appropriate authorisation, please contact us at alex@estepona.life.
14. Third-party websites
Our website may contain links to websites operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for how those third parties process personal data.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change.
The latest version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where a change materially affects processing based on consent, we will request new consent where required.
