This cafe is one of the most popular breakfast spots in the whole town. Very popular with locals and visitors alike for many reasons – the great food, quick service and great prices.

When it comes to a bacon roll, El Caliente is almost as good as Sabores.

As well as the great food and service, El Caliente is in a fantastic location on the beautiful Calle Real, right in the middle of the Old Town.

You have to visit!

We love having breakfast here. There’s always a queue, so you have to wait, but the service is very fast and the breakfasts are delicious; we’ve tried several. With a wide-ranging menu that you can customize, it’s a great breakfast experience in Estepona. It’s located on a pedestrian street with outdoor tables shaded by umbrellas or other natural features. Inside, there are only a few tables, but you can also eat at the bar.

Excellent breakfast on the terrace at El Caliente. There was a queue and we had to wait a while. Fantastic coffee. They have a variety of omelets and small sandwiches. A must-visit in Estepona for breakfast in the town center.

The food is pretty good and inexpensive, but the waitress isn’t very friendly or polite. It feels like we’re bothering her or that she doesn’t like tourists 😅

El Caliente is best for breakfast! And they do it very well.

A big selection of Rolls (Bocodillos), and toasts are available with a range of yummy fillings.

The coffee is very Spanish in its taste and appearance (often served in a glass), so it might not be to everyone’s taste.

La ubicación

El Caliente is on Calle Real, right in the centre of the old town.

It does have plenty of outside space but it can get very busy,

Don’t expect sea views here but it’s still a joy to sit on and take in the energy of this busy street.

Inside space if the weather isn’t good.

To avoid the crowds at El Caliente arrive before 9am or after 12:30pm.
