This cafe is one of the most popular breakfast spots in the whole town. Very popular with locals and visitors alike for many reasons – the great food, quick service and great prices.

When it comes to a bacon roll, El Caliente is almost as good as Sabores.

As well as the great food and service, El Caliente is in a fantastic location on the beautiful Calle Real, right in the middle of the Old Town.

You have to visit!

The owner’s treatment of customers is terrible; you’re given 20 minutes to sit at a table to order, and after 20 minutes they stop serving you. He also treats elderly people very badly.

Well, I’ve been going to Caliente for decades, and it never disappoints. The service is always excellent, and Ángel and his son are wonderful, as is the entire team. It’s always a busy place, and you almost always have to wait “not too long” for a table, but they have excellent coordination. So I highly recommend it, and I hope they stay open for many more years. Congratulations on so many years of great breakfasts, and I also commend their patience. I used to be a waiter, and the rudeness some people have to put up with in the hospitality industry is unbelievable. That said, I give them a 10 out of 10.

Great place! It’s in a cozy location, the waiters are very friendly, and the service is super fast! The food was really, really good, and even though it was breakfast, I ate a ton, and that was just a sandwich! The prices are great too. Many thanks to the Bar Caliente team!

Our favourite café in Estepona with good food and authentic environment. We really appreciated the gluten free bread.

The Food

El Caliente is best for breakfast! And they do it very well.

A big selection of Rolls (Bocodillos), and toasts are available with a range of yummy fillings.

The coffee is very Spanish in its taste and appearance (often served in a glass), so it might not be to everyone’s taste.

The Location

El Caliente is on Calle Real, right in the centre of the old town.

It does have plenty of outside space but it can get very busy,

Don’t expect sea views here but it’s still a joy to sit on and take in the energy of this busy street.
