My parents have stayed here a number of times and they absolutely love it.

It’s very luxurious.

The rooms are big, well-equipped, and cleaned impeccably. This, combined with helpful, attentive services, makes it a lovely place to stay.

The hotel also has four restaurants and two bars, including a rooftop bar with jaw-dropping views of Estepona.

If you can afford it, it’s certainly worth a stay. If not, be sure to check out the roof bar anyway.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for one week and felt very looked after. The complete staff were professional, polite and very friendly at all times. Extraordinarily pleasant. Some days they cleaned the room three times!
It’s completely central on the square and the beach is so close you can walk there in two minutes flat. The main restaurant is affordable and also has tables outside on the plaza with awnings for a cozy setting. There’s an Irish bar which is frequented by passers by too.
And two other restaurants on the premises.
Also it’s surrounded by restaurants and cafes, it’s just great.
There’s a parking garage directly around the corner which costs 19,- euros a day.
We ran up a stomach flu during our stay and they paid special attention to us. I’m very grateful for that. They even arranged for a doctor to check up on us even though it wasn’t really necessary. I can recommend this hotel El Pilar which highest regards.
The only thing that I can think of which was a little annoying is that the two singles that make up the master bed, kept sliding apart at night.

Just returned from a two night stay at the hotel and everything from the warm welcome to the goodbye was amazing. The hotel is beautiful with attention to detail in every aspect, and the levels of service from the receptionist, to the breakfast team of waitresses to the bartender in Coopers who was excellent. (And an excellent Guinness on draughts according to my partner). And of course not forgetting the cleaners. Everyone so happy and welcoming.

The English breakfast each morning was spot on. Hot and flavorsome and we could add extras or swaps to our dish.I had breakfast tea the first morning and to be honest, it was too weak and tasteless and I don’t think the addition of a second tea bag in the pot would have made much difference to it. So I went for the coffee the next morning which was excellent.

We had a bar meal in Coopers, which was OK but spoiled a little by ingredients that were not mentioned on the menu, and items that were on the menu not included. There were pickles in the burger, that maybe I missed or were not on the menu, and no caramelised onions that were on the menu. My partner asked for a plain hot dog and asked for caramelised onions to be added. What she got was a hot dog with raw spring onions on top and something that looked like pulled pork under the hot dog. So not the best.

We loved the whole experience and will certainly return later this year.

A 4-star hotel located on Plaza de las Flores. It boasts a central location near the beach, comfortable and clean rooms, welcoming staff, and good overall service according to guest reviews. Rooms above the bars on the street adjacent to the hotel can be noisy.

An excellent hotel, clean, comfortable, wonderful beds and linen and very good ensuite bathrooms. The staff are always friendly and helpful and speak English.
Very reasonable prices out of the main holiday season ( eg. early December, late January.)
Breakfasts are varied and delicious, great tapas and a good bar (Cooper’s)

Have been visiting Makako restaurant and the rooftop bar here since El Pilar opened. the views from both are excellent.
We’ve also stayed a few nights and standards are extremely high. The staff are brilliant: friendly, helpful and attentive. It’s worth the money, especially if you’re new to Estepona.
The location on Flores is unbeatable. Can’t wait to try the new hotel next to it when it opens.
