Best Rooftop Bars in Estepona

I love to catch the evening sun in Estepona.

The rooftop bars in Estepona are a lovely way to enjoy the views with a cold drink, from intimate old-town terraces to the panoramic Cielo Skybar.

This guide covers four options: The Old Town Hotel, Bermeja Views at Hotel El Pilar Andalucía, Veranera Hostel and Cielo Skybar. All four welcome walk-ins, including visitors who are not staying at the hotels. Seating is subject to availability.

The Old Town Hotel was my favourite rooftop bar when I first wrote this guide in 2024. I liked its relaxed atmosphere and comfortable seating. Walk-ins are welcome, although a seat is never guaranteed.

The views might not be quite as good as those of Bermeja Views at Hotel El Pilar Andalucía, but they are still pretty amazing.

Bermeja Views is the rooftop bar at Hotel El Pilar Andalucía. Views of Plaza de las Flores, the mountains and the church towers make it a lovely place to enjoy a cocktail above the old town.

Walk-ins are welcome. For sunset or a group visit, arriving early or asking the venue about a reservation is a sensible way to plan.

On the visits covered in my original 2024 guide, service could be slow when it was busy; this is a past experience rather than a report on service today.

The bar serves cocktails and food. I particularly enjoyed the gyoza on my earlier visit. Check the official Bermeja Views page for the latest menu and booking options, as dishes and prices can change.

Veranera impressed me when I visited for the original guide.

Veranera’s rooftop combines views of the old town and Sierra Bermeja with a bar, a small plunge pool and a laid-back, social atmosphere. Walk-ins are welcome at the bar; ask the hostel separately about pool use.

It’s a good option if you enjoy meeting other travellers. The hostel also advertises activities such as live music and open-air cinema; check the official rooftop page and its social channels for what’s on during your visit.

Cielo Skybar at Mirador del Carmen

For a different perspective on Estepona, Cielo Skybar sits on the 12th floor of Mirador del Carmen, overlooking the city and coastline. Its operator advertises panoramic views, cocktails and premium drinks. Walk-ins are welcome.

Planning your rooftop-bar visit

All four bars welcome walk-ins, but arriving without a booking does not guarantee a table. For a group or a particular sunset time, contact your chosen venue ahead of time.

If you need step-free access or are visiting with children, ask your chosen venue about access to the terrace and any age restrictions before you go. Bar access does not automatically include use of a hotel or hostel pool.

The Old Town Hotel, Bermeja Views and Veranera are within the old town, making it easy to combine a rooftop drink with a stroll through the centre. Cielo adds a waterfront option at Mirador del Carmen. Choose one or two stops and leave time to enjoy the view.
