My parents have stayed here a number of times and they absolutely love it.
It’s very luxurious.
The rooms are big, well-equipped, and cleaned impeccably. This, combined with helpful, attentive services, makes it a lovely place to stay.
The hotel also has four restaurants and two bars, including a rooftop bar with jaw-dropping views of Estepona.
If you can afford it, it’s certainly worth a stay. If not, be sure to check out the roof bar anyway.

Shopping galore, if that is your interest, and a two minute walk to the paseo, (promenade, embarcadero), right on the beach.
The staff at the Hotel de Flores is magnificent. Very helpful in all things Estepona and the Costa Del Sol. Nothing is too much trouble.
An extreme example: my wife broke her ankle during our trip. The staff supported her while awaiting the ambulance and made sure she got to the best hospital in nearby Marbella. After surgery, we came back to the hotel for the remainder of our vacation. It was traumatic, but they made sure we enjoyed what time we had left.
They arranged transportation back to the Malaga Airport, as well as upgrade for her airplane seat. All this was done, with out any hesitation, since we do not speak Spanish. What a gift to us both. Thank you Celia, Ted, Enka, Lourdes, Guillermo, and Alberto – the General Manager. He even called the hospital to see how my wife was doing post surgery.
FANTASTIC HOTEL IN EVERY WAY.

I stayed at this hotel in Estepona, on the Costa del Sol, and overall the experience was positive, but there are some important points to consider.
The property is very beautiful and well-maintained, and the location is truly excellent: perfect for enjoying the area. The terrace bar is also a great plus, very pleasant.
However, there are some less convenient aspects. If you arrive by car, you can’t park directly at the hotel: you have to leave your car in an outside parking lot, which isn’t exactly cheap, and then walk to the hotel with your luggage, which is quite inconvenient.
Another negative point, especially for us Italians, is the lack of a bidet in the bathroom, a flaw that could impact the comfort of your stay.
Finally, breakfast is served à la carte and not buffet style, which might not satisfy everyone.
In summary: the location and property get top marks, but parking and room amenities could be improved.
What to expect
El Pilar is a luxury boutique hotel for when you want to enjoy the best.
Even the cheapest rooms are big, well-equipped and very comfortable.
The service is friendly and attentive and will make sure your stay is enjoyable.

The Location
This hotel is right in the center of Estepona Old Town, on Plaze de las Flores
From here you have easy access to the beach and the old town.
There isn’t any parking here but it’s only 5 minute walk to the nearest public car park.
