Paralelo 36 is a functional bar right on the seafront. I’ve visited it a few times, but only for a drink, I’ve never tried the food here.
It does drinks well however, with a large outside seating area, a great view of the Mediterranean Sea and good service. My favorite time to visit is in the early evening as you can catch the last of the days sun and you’ll often find one of the best street performers in Estepona playing.
Great for a beachfront drink and some evening sun.

The most unpleasant incident occurred when my cousin asked if they sold Capri Sun, a very common drink in Spain. One of the waiters responded that it was “no longer available in Colombia,” a completely inappropriate and unnecessary comment that struck us as racist and rude. Instead of simply asking whether or not they had the product, he opted to make an observation that was uncomfortable and offensive.
Furthermore, there was a noticeable difference in the service depending on the staff member. While some waiters were polite, others displayed a rude, domineering, and uncustomer-oriented attitude. In particular, the older waiters conveyed a sense of apathy and lack of professionalism that negatively impacted the experience.
It’s a shame, because the place has potential thanks to its views and location, but the quality of service needs to improve considerably. Respect and courtesy towards customers should be a priority in any establishment.
The Food
I haven’t tried the food here.
It just doesn’t look like the place to eat. It’s a bar!

The Location
The location is the best thing about the place. Right on the front next to a delightful square.
There are lots of tables outside, but it’s often busy, especially in the summer. When it’s busy the service can suffer too.
They are open from 9am in the morning right through to midnight.
