Abanico is a hidden gem in Estepona. I only found it recently.

The staff here are very friendly and all the food I’ve tried here has been really tasty and at a great price.

If you fancy a change from the expensive, touristy places in the Old Town you must visit Abanico.

What a lovely discovery. If you like good tapas, good wine and a very cold beer, then this is the place for you. They also do larger plates. Service was very friendly and professional. We had 5 tapa, 2 glasses of wine , 2 beers, a coffee and a cheese cake plus a tip for €42 . Outstanding value.
My highlight : eggplant in PX , really delicious.

The Food

I love the tapas at Abanico.

They’re really great value and super tasty.

They also offer a few different dishes that you don’t find in many other places.

  • Good value for money
  • Tasty tapas
  • Full plates available
  • You get bread and olives everytime!

Be sure to try the stuffed mushroom!

The Location

Abanico is just outside the old town close to the Ayuntamiento.

It’s on a lovely quiet square and they have tables inside and out.

  • Situatred on a lovely square – perfect for children to play on.
  • Lots of space both inside and out
  • A short walk from the old town and the beach.

They are open everyday apart from Wednesday. On Monday’s and Tuesday’s they are only open for lunch.
