El Pescador

I thought it was a prime location right on the sea (although I didn’t see them) I heard the sound of the waves… it was dark and quite late… so there weren’t many people there…I had a nice meal at a reasonable price. It would be cheap by Belgian standards, but apparently expensive by Spanish standards. The only thing that keeps me from going back is 1 waiter ..: he was so arrogant that it was rude … I struggled to speak the few words of Spanish I can speak … He was very gruff .. threw the food on the table and even though I kept trying to say gracias .. … he pretended to be deaf and dumb .. he completely ignored me … and made it clear that I was not welcome … at least that’s how it came across to me …. Luckily the other waiters were friendly… Too bad about that arrogant waiter.. and this is the only reason I won’t come back again… and I thought Spanish people were friendly 🙄🙄… I will also tell anyone who asks me about the rude waiter…. When I had already paid, I asked if I could go to the toilet… it was close to closing time… the waiters kindly showed me the way… I had a small dog with me that I had been sitting outside with… I am there in a country that is completely foreign to me… I don’t leave my dog ​​there alone to go to the toilet… there was no one in the restaurant besides the waiters… That annoying waiter who I thought couldn’t speak could suddenly open his mouth… he pointed at my dog ​​and made a face… perro no…. While other waiters didn’t say anything about it… this time I ignored him… just like him I was suddenly dead stupid…. But that was the icing on the cake… whether that waiter likes me or not… I am a customer just like everyone else… if there were no customers he wouldn’t have a job 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ .. because of customers he gets his wages… At least they have lost this customer.. too bad for the delicious food and the other waiters…. I’m on vacation and I don’t want to be treated like this. Afterwards I realized that the waiters were not Spanish but this should not be a reason to treat a customer that way regardless of who it is. That perhaps also explained the arrogant behavior of that waiter…a lady alone with a dog…was clearly something that was not possible for him. Another time I was invited by a gentleman to the same restaurant… and without a dog… then the red carpet was almost laid. I find this strange… all customers should be treated the same, whether or not you have a dog, whether you are alone or with 2, whether you are a man or a woman

I am very sorry that I do not know his name because I want to emphasize that all the other waiters approached me respectfully.

But 1 bad apple can make the whole basket bad… it’s a very bad advertisement for an otherwise excellent restaurant.

If I know that the person in question no longer works there, I will definitely return because the quality of the food is super fresh and the view is beautiful. The second time we were allowed to choose our own fresh fish.

But the rude behavior of 1 staff member unfortunately ruins everything for me 🥲🥲
