🌧️ There is lots of inside space at La Cocina so it’s a good place to go when it’s raining.

Editors Comment
I’ve been to La Cocina a number of times and always enjoyed it.
It’s made up of a full restaurant and a tapas bar, both of which are good.
The food is of high quality and the service is always welcoming and friendly.
Outside the tapas bar on the weekend, you can sometimes find a flamenco guitarist and singer, which are amazing to experience.
If you visit the tapas bar you must try the fried olives. They’re delicious!
A lovely restaurant that’s worth a visit. If you want something lighter than a full meal try the tapas bar.

There was a good atmosphere in the bar, with a local duo playing and people enjoying a drink, but the dining experience was the worst we have experienced in Estepona, having visited several times. I’d advise you to avoid this place for dining.
In general the snack was good. Delicious entrecôte, and the salad. But the problem came when they served us the prawns. It was so scarce that we thought it was a tapa instead of the portion we had ordered. (Please look at the photo)
Very politely we called the waiter, we asked him and he answered very seriously that this was a portion, and that we did want a pot!!
Given that comment, we told what happened to two waiters who approached our table. They were kind and apologized for their inadequate response.
We will not repeat it again. It’s a shame, but there are many bars in Estepona. If you go to dinner and you don’t like something, you have the right to express your complaint as long as you say it politely, and you like to be responded to with the same pleasure. If you put a tapa and you want to call it a ration, then you change the name and that’s it. But customers are notified beforehand to avoid surprises.
The Food
You’ll find traditional Spanish food at La Cocina. It is freshly prepared and of high quality.
The restaurant serves complete meals, including a selection of rice dishes.
Next to the restaurant, you’ll find a Tapas bar that has a selection of dishes, some of which you won’t find elsewhere.
The Location
La Cocina is located in a less touristy part of the old town. It’s on a lovely street by a nice square by the church.
The Tapas bar on the side is well worth a visit on a Friday or Saturday, as you might find live flamenco music. You’ve also got to try the fried olives!
