I visited Bardo just one week after they had opened and I think they were still getting used to everything.

The food was a mixed selection. We ordered tapas.

The fries were very garlicky, but in hindsight, the menu did say “A la provenzal”, which I now know means “with garlic and parsley”.

The Empanadas where ok, but a little salty and the Croquette was a bit bland.

The artichoke was delicious.

Apart from the food, I did enjoy my time at Bardo. The service was very helpful and friendly.

Bardo is in a beautiful location in Estepona Old Town, a great place to spend some time.

Am Abend zuvor sind wir zufällig an dem Restaurant vorbeigelaufen. Es wirkte direkt einladend, also haben wir es heute spontan ausprobiert. Es war absolut die richtige Entscheidung.

Das Restaurant scheint familiengeführt zu sein, was man sofort an der herzlichen Atmosphäre merkt. Die Speisekarte ist gut zusammengestellt, mit vielen argentinischen Spezialitäten, und die Portionen sind wirklich großzügig.

Wir haben uns zunächst für zwei Vorspeisen entschieden. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die Ochsenschwanzkroketten, einfach köstlich. Als Hauptgerichte hatten wir Milanesas wie direkt aus Argentinien und fantastische Entrañas, perfekt gegrillt, zart und voller Geschmack.

Zum Abschluss gab es noch ein Dessert: Panqueques mit Dulce de Leche, ein süßer Traum und der perfekte Abschluss eines tollen Abends.

Insgesamt ein authentisches, liebevoll geführtes Restaurant mit großartigem Essen. Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.

Gillade verkligen Bardo! Superfin miljö vid uteserveringen. Trevlig personal och goda drinkar & fräsch samt god mat. Vi tog in tapas som vi delade på och delade på en flaska vitt, och det var super. Efterrätten cheesecake med dulce de leche glass var superb. Vi gick dit 2 gånger under vår vistelse.

EXCELLENT, the true taste of Argentine food. I truly recommend them.
The dishes were very high quality, the service, everything. It was like transporting us for a moment to our homeland through the flavors they offered us in their heart; in their Milanese and in the Pancake with dulce de leche!!!

This place is absolutely the place to go if you want good ambience, nice decor, superb food and super nice service!!! We had some classic Argentinian food like milanesa, empanadas and fantastic grilled beef, and we loved it! Great selection of wines also. Not to miss it!!!!

The Food

At Bardo de La Botica, you’ll find a selection of Argentinian-inspired style Tapas

The grilled artichoke is really good!

I have to be honest and say the food wasn’t all that great. I only tried a few tapas, however.

The Location

Bardo is a wonderful location in Estepona Old Town.

There are lots of tables outside and it’s situated near the church in a quieter area of the old town.

  • Very easy to find

They are open at 6pm Wednesday to Sunday.

Expect it to be busy at the weekend.

    I’ve been in Estepona/Spain for 14 years and still don’t understand this insistance on the part of owners – and even non-owners – of never, under any circumstances, letting prospective patrons know… EXACTLY WHERE YOUR BUSINESS IS LOCATED. Example: just puruse the “Local” quarterly. I used to tell myself, ‘I’m from N America where ALL business owners advertise – first, the name of the business, second, THE FREAKIN’ ADDRESS and TELEPHONE NUMBER and EMAIL ADDRESS, and third, what their business offers. I thought, I’m missing something, and – like everything else in N America – this way-of-doing-business must have some horrible flaw that I, being a bear of very little brain, just never figured out. Turns out… nope. They got something right for once in N Am… bc this coy, cryptic, weak way of promoting one’s business here has no justification. —– All that said, this is my ONLY gripe. I follow your Posts religiously, Alex. But, dude ….. really. I’ve gotta wonder why???

    Bardo Estepona is first class in every way. Service, atmosphere and the food each time we have eaten there has been exciting and flawless. A great addition to Estepona Town. Flamenco music on Thursdays from 9.00pm, a great night.
