ℹ️ La Escollera gets very busy and they don’t accept reservations so make sure you arrive early. Whilst you’re waiting for a table you can get a drink and a tapas the wait is quite a pleasant experience.

?️ There is lots of inside space at La Escollera so it’s a good place for coffee, breakfast or lunch when it’s raining.

Editors Comment

La Escollera is part of Estepona history and culture. Legend has it that the restaurant started with a small fire and a bucket of fish and as the fishermen would return to the port it was freshly prepared and cooked right off the boat.

Today, it’s a popular place to get fresh fish and seafood. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve enjoyed the experience, and the food has been excellent.

It does get very busy, and you can’t book, however, you can get a tapas and drink while you wait.

A great experience for seafood lovers.

A true classic in the port of Estepona. The quality of the seafood and fresh fish is simply unbeatable. The Galician-style octopus, grilled prawns, and giant scorpionfish salad are must-tries. The restaurant maintains a lively and authentic atmosphere that reflects the essence of a good seafood restaurant. The terrace overlooking the port is perfect for enjoying lunch. The service is quick and friendly, although there may be a wait during peak season. Prices are very reasonable considering the exceptional quality of the food. An authentic experience of Estepona’s seafood cuisine.

Fantasic food and interesting concept of queueing outside waiting for the table instead of accepting reservations.

One of my favorite restaurants in all of Spain. Fantastic fresh seafood, delicious shrimp fritters, a large wine list, and an incredible value. One of a few places on the coast not overrun with expats.
