This Mexican restaurant is a true hidden gem.
Run by a friendly and welcoming family, they always make you feel like an old friend, even if it’s your first visit.
The food is fantastic and always a delight.
The one downside would be if you’re vegetarian as there aren’t many meat-free dishes to choose.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Estepona!

Now, anyone who knows me well knows I’ll eat down and dirty. Give me a shack with dirt floors and chickens running around at my feet and I’m at home, but if I’m in a place that’s going to cost me minimum 25€ for a meal then I’m going to set a fairly high bar. This place met ally standards. It was clean, no sticky table or marks on the dining ware. Everyone who worked there was friendly, a random kitchen employee even walked through the dining room at one point during my meal and wished me a good meal as he passed by. I was neither ignored nor pestered by the staff. If I needed something they were there.
I was dining alone and a different table invited me to join them for a bit and when I excused myself because I realized they were far too intoxicated for my liking there was concern shown that I was okay. Little things like that make a huge difference.
I haven’t even gotten to the food yet! Don’t bother asking for a menu. Just let them serve you. I was served chicken enchiladas and after a quesadilla. Both were amazing. They also serve in house habenero sauce. It was delicious.
I will definitely be returning. You should go eat here right now. Wherever else you’re considering can wait. This is the place to go.
The Food
Los Agaves has a small menu of authentic homemade Mexican food.
They have the classics you’d expect like a choice of tacos and Quessidillas but they also have more unique things like Huaraches and Tostadas.
The Location
Los Agaves is in a lovely square in the newer part of Estepona
They have lots of tables outside so you should be able to get a table.
They are open every day apart from Wednesdays.
