ℹ️ The hours at La Sureña can change. They don’t always open really late. La Sureña is very popular when it’s sunny so expect to wait a few minutes for a table.

La Sureña is favourite of mine. I visit it regularly for Tapas and beer!

It’s no frills and thankfully hasn’t changed despite being in one of the most popular areas with tourists in Estepona.

The food is traditional Spanish tapas so expect to find favourites like Russian Salad, Pork in Tomato sauce and Solomillo in a paper sauce.

A great place for tapas in a classic location.

Location is wonderful, service is OK but not good and our €14 Caesar salad was a joke, unfortunately. It had a bit of green salad, about 20 grams of fried chicken and three cherry tomatoes. We thought we had ordered a tapas sized salad at first, but no, the staff confirmed that this 10×5 cm salad was indeed €14. No Parmesan, no bacon, no croutons. Could have gotten three tapas for the same price, which would have been at leas three times more food. Staff seemed offended when we questioned the size and lack of classic Caesar salad ingredients.

Always a nice place for authentic tapas. Sometimes the waiting time for a table can be long, but it is worth it.
You cannot make reservations, but they have a good functioning system to allocate the tables to the waiting people in a fair manner.

La Sureña is a classic, no frills Tapas in a beautiful corner of Plaza de las Flores.

The classic Spanish Tapas and Montaditos (sandwiches).

One of the best Russian Salads in Estepona.

The Location

This tapas bar is in the shady corner of Plaza de las Flores making a comfortable spot on during the summer.

There are lots of tables outside but it’s often busy so be prepared to wait.

🚻 The one thing that lets La Sureña down is the toilets which could do with a bit of attention (and some toilet seats).
