ℹ️ The hours at La Sureña can change. They don’t always open really late. La Sureña is very popular when it’s sunny so expect to wait a few minutes for a table.

La Sureña is favourite of mine. I visit it regularly for Tapas and beer!

It’s no frills and thankfully hasn’t changed despite being in one of the most popular areas with tourists in Estepona.

The food is traditional Spanish tapas so expect to find favourites like Russian Salad, Pork in Tomato sauce and Solomillo in a paper sauce.

A great place for tapas in a classic location.

Cozy location on the Plaza de las Flores. I was traveling alone, so it was nice to do a bit of people-watching. The service is quick and friendly, probably to keep things moving, because at 9:00 PM there are quite a few groups of people waiting. Personally, I didn’t find the tapas particularly special and the selection limited, though they were well-priced.

To begin with, the waiters are excellent! Fran is delightful with his service and comments, and Carlos is equally friendly. The tapas and small sandwiches are fantastic; the selection is so varied that you could enjoy tapas every day without getting bored. Without a doubt, it’s one of the best places in Estepona, where the view is a real bonus. We highly recommend it! 👌👏👏👏👏👏✨

A really good tapas restaurant. The waiters were very friendly and served us incredibly fast. We ate inside, although in the summer I highly recommend eating outside, as it gets a bit warm inside.

We ordered a small tapa of sirloin steak in sauce and some meatballs. At first, the portions seem small for the price, but two tapas are more than enough. You could even have a full lunch or dinner with just one tapa.

We left delighted with the place: the food, the service, the atmosphere… everything was wonderful. A very small-town feel, quiet and super welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!

The Location

This tapas bar is in the shady corner of Plaza de las Flores making a comfortable spot on during the summer.

There are lots of tables outside but it’s often busy so be prepared to wait.

? The one thing that lets La Sureña down is the toilets which could do with a bit of attention (and some toilet seats).
