We also didn’t feel very welcome when we moved from the main restaurant area to the tapas section. Apparently, you can only order from the tapas menu if you’re seated at specific tables, which wasn’t made clear and felt unnecessarily restrictive.
Service-wise, it seemed like our tapas were deliberately delayed, possibly to encourage us to order more drinks and increase the bill. Maybe that wasn’t the intention, but that’s how it came across. Especially when the first 3 tapas came quickly and the last tapa took an extra 20 minutes to be given.
I understand that prices are higher due to the location, but there are plenty of better, more affordable, and friendlier options nearby.
The Food
Taberna Diez offers a selection of Mediterranean dishes, both traditional and modern.
I’ve not yet tried this restaurant so, but every time I walk past and catch a glimpse of the food, it always looks good.
Taberna Diez has lots of positive reviews on Google, and I can’t wait to visit.
The Location
Taberna Diez is on the wonderful Calle Reale one of the main streets through Estepona.
There is plenty of outside seating but booking during the summer is essential.
During the winter there is some tables inside.
If you need a taxi after your meal you’ll find them just round the corner on Av. España.
