We waited over 20 minutes for our dinner order to be taken, despite asking twice, and seeing other tables that had arrived later (supposedly acquaintances) served first.
Furthermore, all the other tables received a complimentary appetizer of olives with their drinks, but we received nothing, left waiting.
It’s worth noting the smile that a young woman in black always maintained; she was the only one who served everyone with a smile. In short, I don’t know if the ownership or the staff has changed, but it was a disappointment, and I’ll try to explain: the failure isn’t the staff’s fault for the delays, the lack of appetizers, or the disorganized prioritization of tables based on arrival order; the failure lies with the current management, who failed to make us enjoy the experience due to the noticeable differences in service and the demotivated staff. The mussels were just as delicious as they were in November!
And here’s my review from November 2025:
We went by chance for a drink on Saturday afternoon and highly recommend it. Great terrace. Very friendly staff, and the mussels marinara were delicious.
I’ve been here a second time and I’m revising my review. It was a bad experience this time. The waiter who takes our drinks seems grumpy, and we’ve been waiting at our table for 20 minutes for them to take our dinner order, while they attend to the friends who just arrived. They’re already eating while we’re still waiting.
Every table gets olives with their drinks, except ours—what a tacky touch!
We won’t be back; they don’t deserve it.
Also very odd that they don’t serve coffee

I’ve not yet tried this restaurant so, but every time I walk past and catch a glimpse of the food, it always looks good.
Taberna Diez has lots of positive reviews on Google, and I can’t wait to visit.
