This cafe is one of the most popular breakfast spots in the whole town. Very popular with locals and visitors alike for many reasons – the great food, quick service and great prices.

When it comes to a bacon roll, El Caliente is almost as good as Sabores.

As well as the great food and service, El Caliente is in a fantastic location on the beautiful Calle Real, right in the middle of the Old Town.

You have to visit!

Only open in the mornings this is a great place for breakfast. This is reflected in the queues of locals outside. Just join the end as it goes down quickly. Various bread options and fillings. Great juice. Good value.

I’ve been having breakfast there for 2 years, and I always leave very happy, I never tire of coming back. The service is very fast and the quality of the food is very good. In addition, the waiters’ treatment of customers is attentive and very pleasant. Highlight the wonderful treatment of the waiter Angel.
I always leave there very happy, I highly recommend it.

Buen sitio para desayunar, pedi catalana con extra de queso manchego, solo tuvimos un pequeño problema con el bote de sirope para el croissant, se hubiera evitado si viniese montado.

After 3 consecutive days having breakfast there, everything was perfect, the sandwiches were very prepared, the price was affordable but I have to recognize the service, exceptional especially from the young guy on the street, friendly, attentive, hard-working.
The only thing I didn’t like was the boss’s treatment of the workers, contemptuous looks, bad manners….
It seems that they endure a lot of stress and deal with a lot of people to be so unsympathetic to them.

The Food

El Caliente is best for breakfast! And they do it very well.

A big selection of Rolls (Bocodillos), and toasts are available with a range of yummy fillings.

The coffee is very Spanish in its taste and appearance (often served in a glass), so it might not be to everyone’s taste.

The Location

El Caliente is on Calle Real, right in the centre of the old town.

It does have plenty of outside space but it can get very busy,

Don’t expect sea views here but it’s still a joy to sit on and take in the energy of this busy street.

To avoid the crowds at El Caliente arrive before 9am or after 12:30pm.
