I really like El Descaro and have eaten here many times. The food is good and is alway presented well. They offer lots of tapas and some bigger plates too. Las Costillas (Ribs) are particularly good!

ℹ️ El Descaro opening hours are dependant on the weather. On a sunny day it’s a great place to site outside and enjoy the food and drinks however if the weather is bad they may not be open.

El Descaro is one of my favorites and I visit it regularly.

I especially enjoy the tapas which are a little bit different from the usual things you’ll find in Estepona – it’s a good place to go if you fancy a change from La Sureña.

Set on the beautiful Plaza de las Flores it’s a very pleasant place to spend time although the tables and chairs could be spaced out a little more.

Martin the head waiter is always friendly and helpful when I visit.

We were told we were not allowed to sit on a table in the sun unless we were buying food. “For drinks only, you can have this table” – pointing to a shaded table in the corner.We walked away. Very rude and unfortunate for a lovely location.

Terrible service, not to mention the food. Scrambled eggs with potatoes and ham cost €15.95. The potatoes were undercooked and served practically cold, some eggs were half-cooked and others were overcooked. After asking for bread about five times, they finally brought it after we’d already finished eating. The croquettes we ordered were cold inside (frozen and undercooked). A complete disaster—I’ll never go back.

We went for breakfast and the waiter charmed us with his friendliness and kindness.
We ordered toast with olive oil, tomato, and ham… when he saw we were running low on ham, he kindly brought us an extra plate… a really nice touch.
I’ll definitely be back, we loved it.

Group of 6. Sunny terrace that extended to the plaza. Cheerful and helpful male waiter. Good tapas and drinks. Price/quality is great.

The Food

The food at El Descaro is very good. It’s always well presented and tastes good too.

Prices are fairly expensive, but you are on the main square in Estepona.

The Location

Situated on one of the best squares in Estepona El Descaro is a delightful place to spend time when the weather is fine.

They have a lot of tables in the middle of the square, probably too many in my opinion as it can feel a little squashed.
